RNG is captured from organic materials such as agricultural, wastewater, landfill, or food waste and can produce carbon-negative results when used as fuel for vehicles like trucks, buses, and refuse collection vehicles. RNG use grew 13% over 2024 and 94% since 2021, with 755 million gallons of RNG used out of 806 million gallons of natural gas motor fuel in 2025. This usage displaced 11.01 million metric tons of CO2 equivalent emissions. |
