Renovate and Rehabilitate Recreation at Assiginack Fairgrounds

The project will rehabilitate and renovate recreational facilities at the Assiginack Fairgrounds in Assiginack, Ontario. Project activities include: upgrading the ball diamond with lighting, adding a new storage building, redoing the track surface, upgrading the sliding hill and the inside track grounds with drainage, soil, grass, installing soccer nets, hoop golf, filling in ditch, purchase installing accessible bleachers for outdoor activities, gutting back end of arena and turning it into multi purpose fitness room, purchasing exercise equipment, paint arena boards, build jumping pits, and building a basketball court. The project will increase recreational and social opportunities for Manitoulin Island residents by ensuring youth, adults and seniors have access to improved facilities to support their physical health and social literacy.
