Renovate and Rehabilitate Recreation at Assiginack Fairgrounds

The project will rehabilitate and renovate recreational facilities at the Assiginack Fairgrounds in Assiginack, Ontario. Project activities include: upgrading the ball diamond with lighting; adding a new storage building; redoing the track surface; upgrading the sliding hill and the inside track grounds with drainage, soil, and grass; installing soccer nets; filling in ditch; purchasing and installing accessible bleachers for outdoor activities; gutting back end of the arena and turning it into multi purpose fitness room; renovating the floors of the fitness room; purchasing exercise equipment; painting the arena boards; and building jumping pits. The project will increase recreational and social opportunities for Manitoulin Island residents by ensuring youth, adults and seniors have access to improved facilities to support their physical health and social literacy.
