Renovation and updating of the Marie-Victorin Library

The project involves renovating the facilities of the Marie-Victorin library in L’Ancienne-Lorette. The building’s footprint will remain unchanged. Renovation of the building envelope is planned, in addition to a complete refurbishment of the interior. The first floor is occupied by the library, while the basement is shared by the library and the recreation department. In addition, the project aims to meet safety and sanitary standards. The City of L’Ancienne-Lorette (final beneficiary) remains the owner and operator of the property. Main work : - Renovation of exterior walls and roof - Renovation of first floor and basement - Increased library space in basement for study and teamwork rooms - Transfer of some recreation department space to the library - Reconfiguration of staircases and washrooms - Installation of an easy-access elevator - Refreshment of interior finishes and spatial reorganization - Repair and replacement of exterior finishes, notably the entrance canopy that runs alongside the building. The project will enable the city of Ancienne-Lorette to offer its population a better quality cultural infrastructure and improve access to it.
