Renovation of the Carrefour de L’Érable

The project consists of renovating the Carrefour de L’Érable, a building belonging to the City of Plessisville and leased to the Regional County Municipality (MRC) of L’Érable. This building houses the region’s tourist information office, the administrative offices of MRC employees dedicated to the region’s tourism development, the reception station for the Grandes-Coulées regional park, a multifunctional room and a sales kiosk. of maple products (managed by the MRC). More specifically, the project targets in particular the following elements: - replacement of the roof and related work (eg: gutters); - work on the exterior cladding of the building: cleaning the masonry, hollowing out the joints, leveling the cracked mortar joints, staining the plank cladding, dismantling the old crawl space hatch, constructing a new wall; - construction of new washrooms: repair and opening of devices in washrooms allowing access from the outside in addition to universal accessibility for people with reduced mobility and families; - work on the openings of the building, in particular the replacement of the existing windows; - work in the crawl space (high humidity, presence of molds): remove the contaminated soil and replace it with new dry sand, make an opening in the existing foundation wall, install a new drainage system, industrial dehumidifiers and a heating system inside the crawl space; - exterior work: clean the concrete staircase with a sandblast, modify the ground level near the building; and - work in the electrical room.
