Renovation of the stone staircase

The project aims the renovation of the stone staircase (main staircase of entrance # 4) of the Cégep de Saint-Jérôme. As a first step, the project consists in removing all the mortar in poor condition as well as all the stones that no longer have a good hold in the structure. Secondly, the friable mortar that was previously removed will be replaced by a mortar that will withstand the wear and tear of time much better. Finally, the possibility of installing a device that will eliminate the use of fondant in winter in order to preserve the entire structure as long as possible will be evaluated. The project will support pandemic response and economic recovery, notably by maintaining and upgrading the quality of school infrastructure.
