Renovations to Historical Library Building

The project will rehabilitate the Beausoleil First Nation Public Library building on Christian Island, Ontario. The work will involve: • re-building the front steps to accommodate people with physical disabilities, and the addition of an accessible ramp; • removal of guano in the exterior walls (includes removal of bricks to be able to access the guano, and subsequent re-bricking); • parging the surface of the lower portion of the building; and • rewiring the building. The project will enable the community to improve access to cultural, recreational and community infrastructure by making the public library more accessible for people with physical disabilities. The work being undertaken will also improve the quality of the building.
