Replace 15 Main Valves Within the Water Distribution System

This project will replace 15 main valves in the water distribution system and includes restoration of roads where excavation occurs with an aim of increasing efficiency. Distribution system - 15 main valves broken (8” Water Mains Control Valves for Isolating the system). Currently there are locations in town where, if we have an issue, we are forced to shut off up to 6 valves where only 2 would have been required if all the valves were working. This increases the number of residences affected during a shut-off situation and makes the work far more complicated. Improved environmental outcome: Control & Management of treated water; Reduction of waste of treated water; Reduction of contamination to ground due to current leaks and reduce the amount of water and energy needed for production to make up for any losses. As a result, less treatment chemicals are used; Reduction of ground excavating due to current water leaks and reduction of the water wasted to drain a water main to perform repairs.
