Description
Description | The project consists of removing and replacing 4 picnic shelters located in Montgomery Park. The current shelters are old and not built to meet current National Building Code Standards and need to be replaced. Each shelter will be 10 feet square and constructed on posts that will be set in concrete and have a charcoal grey metal roof. Inside the shelter will be a picnic table where the open sides allow for optimum views and allow our guests to have shelter from the elements. The Montgomery Park is a public municipal park with washroom facilities, a playground, and commemorative features that pay tribute to Lucy Maud Montgomery and the founding families of the area. The picnic shelters provide an opportunity for families to break bread and create lasting memories. Montgomery Park serves as a natural hub for the trails and paths in the Cavendish area that connect local businesses and the Prince Edward Island National Park and is the starting point to the Inspiring World of L.M. Montgomery Literary Tour. |
