Description

Description

We will replace the existing three pumps with pumps equipped with variable frequency drives (VFD) that are sized for the current needs of the community. This will also reduce our operating costs and energy consumption. The three existing low-lift pumps are the original 20 horsepower units installed during the construction of the Hearst Water Treatment Plant in 1979. The original estimate was based on a similar unit installed in 2016 by Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA). Using their buying power and through a competitive purchasing process, OCWA was able to order and install the low-lift pumps and variable frequency drives using internal labour.
