Description

Description

Replacement 111 meters of sewer main and 12 service connections, and 111 meters of water main and 12 service connections of infrastructure that is 50+ years old along Beaver Trail. Existing infrastructure is compromised by poor ground conditions and a high water table. Joints are no longer watertight, resulting in significant inflow and infiltration. The wastewater treatment plant experiences high flows and dilute sewage effluent concentrations, reducing available capacity and treatment efficiencies. Aging asbestos cement pipes of the water infrastructure is prone to leakage and breaking. New Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) pipe with watertight joints will ensure the integrity of the system.
