Replacement of Black Bridge

The Project involves the removal of the one (1) kilometer (km) long Black Bridge located in the Town of Bracebridge, Ontario, and replacing it with a new, single-lane bridge, as well as installing a pedestrian walkway along the bridge span. The Project scope will include replacing the bridge structure and all abutments (substructure at the ends of a bridge span); construction of a new, single-lane bridge with new abutments; improving the bridge protective barriers; adjusting deficiencies for safety; and installing a one (1) km pedestrian walkway along the bridge span. The Project will help improve safety for all bridge and road users, improve road and traffic conditions, as well as extend the life of the asset.
