Replacement of Conventional 12 metre Buses

The project consists of the replacement of eleven 12 metre diesel buses in 2020 and 2021, improving service reliability. The replaced buses will be 15 years old on average at time of replacement. The replacement will help reduce maintenance and increase system performance. All buses in the replacement fleet will have real time tracking information used to provide up to date bus times and tracking for riders, cameras to enhance safety on buses, fareboxes for easy and secure payment and will meet or exceed highest accessibility standards. The project will improve the capacity of the public transit system, improve the quality and safety of existing and future transit system, as well as improve access to the public transit system in the Niagara region.
