Description

The project will replace a water main and install 12 new fire hydrants in a subdivision block on Green Sky Street, Wigwaus Street, Gemah Street, and Highway 17B in the Garden River First Nation in Ontario. The work will involve replacing five (5) kilometres of two-inch pipe with six-inch pipe to reduce the burden on the pumping station and prevent system failures while tee and cross water main intersections will also be replaced to minimize damage when breaks occur. In addition, 12 new fire hydrants will be installed to service part of the community currently without hydrants. The project will improve the reliability and access to potable water for 150 homes and 10 businesses, support better fire suppression, and reduce maintenance costs.
