Replacement of lids on the digester tanks at Waste Water Treatment Facility at 92 Alexandra Avenue, Point Edward

Lids on the digester tanks will be replaced in order to make the gas collection and burning system function properly. Gases are currently dissipating into the atmosphere. The seals on the digester lids have broken down over the years and we are concerned that if inspected we could be ordered to remedy the problem within a certain time period. This is a project that we hoped to complete within the next few years but would like to complete it sooner if funding is available. It is not possible to quantify the amount of gas that would be collected and burned off as there is no measuring system available. The end result of the completion of this project would be the elimination of gases being released to the atmosphere.
