Replacement of Structure 34/B-T9 over the Nith River

The project will replace a 45-metre, one-lane bridge with a new, two-lane concrete structure in Wilmot, Ontario. The work will involve: removing the existing structure and abutments; building a new foundation, abutments and superstructure with a reinforced concrete deck and barrier walls; reconstructing the roadway approaches; and applying erosion and sediment control measures. The project will result in safer and more reliable road infrastructure. The risk of flooding will be reduced, height and weight restrictions will be removed, the flow of traffic in the southern portion of the Township will be uninterrupted with two lanes available, and emergency vehicles will able to use the new bridge and access residents more easily.
