Replacement of Substation No. 2 for PATH Subway System

The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey is seeking bidders to construct a replacement of Substation No. 2 for its PATH subway system. The project entails construction of a two-story steel-framed substation building, including switchgear, heavy-duty traction power transformers, medium voltage and traction power cables, supervisory control and data acquisition system, synchronous optical network equipment and security and access controls; construction of a bulkhead for a tunnel emergency evacuation shaft and an underground utility connection to existing PATH tunnels and subsurface utilities; furnishing, installing and commissioning electrical and mechanical equipment, a compressor plant for pneumatic air system and fire protection systems; and furnishing and installing stand-by generators.
