Description

Description

The project is the replacement of the Blind Bridge on Abraham line in the Municipality of Morris-Turnberry, Ontario. The scope of the project includes replacing the aging 38.7 metre span, single late bridge with a new 2 span structure with a deck length of about 49.6 meters. The new structure will have a barrier to barrier width of approximately 6.3 meters. The new bridge will not have weight restrictions. The project aims to address public health and safety concerns, reduce the probability of asset failure and service interruptions, and improve traffic flow and access to the public. The existing bridge is too narrow and with current load limits, insufficient to support most agricultural equipment and associated requirements. Residents are forced to cross the river using a low flow crossing that is unsafe and often flooded, risking equipment and safety in order to access their properties or tend to their livestock or lands.
