Description

Description

The upgrade to the existing water storage standpipe will involve the removal and replacement of the existing tank due to its advanced corrosion which was noted during a condition assessment by Watech Service Inc. as likely to impact the integrity in the near term. The outcome and benefits of this project included provisions for increased capacity to address current storage deficiencies (approx. 475m3 deficiency), extending the lifespan of the existing Delaware Standpipe by rebuilding this asset, improving the system efficiency and service reliability (particularly during high-demand events), improving the management of the drinking water system by addressing the severe corrosion lifecycle related issues identified, and improving the overall risk management. This project will impact 527 households.
