Description
Description | The project will eliminate/minimize the risk of ventilation system interruptions and therefore increase outdoor air intake and/or increase air cleaning. This project stems from the lessons learned during the pandemic, Mont Sinai is a site that serves a particularly fragile clientele at the respiratory level (Pulmonary Rehabilitation Mission). The project consists of replacing the existing 350kW generator which is well past its useful life. We will also increase the capacity of the generator to 500kW to allow it to support urgent loads that are currently impossible to supply safely even with load shedding. This will automatically involve replacing the associated equipment, i.e. distribution panel and primary tanks. In addition, centralized control will allow for a much faster response to the crisis. These systems are very critical and ensure a backup power supply in case of power failure and the maintenance of the facility’s ventilation systems, especially the critical ventilation systems (negative pressure) which currently have no emergency mode capability. In addition, the emergency electrical load shedding allows for better management of loads on vital systems: medical air compressors, suction as well as the ability to install portable units. The work was done entirely inside an existing building. |
