Replacement of the Sedgewick Bridge

The proposed project is the replacement of the existing Sedgewick bridge - an approximate 99 year old single lane 15 kilometre span concrete structure. It spans over the Drag River. The project will include a complete re-construction of the bridge superstructure, substructure and approaches. This includes sheet piles for erosion protection, foundations, footings, abutment walls, wing walls and new bridge sealant. The bridge will be constructed as a one or two lane bridge with or without pedestrian access to replace the existing single lane. The desired outcome of the project is to address public health and safety concerns; reduce the probability of asset failure and service interruptions; improve traffic flow; and, improve access for emergency vehicles.
