Description

Description

RADAR (Reporting Anti-muslim Discrimination and Racism) supports the EU's broader strategy by (i) improving data collection, (ii) capacity building, and (iii) fostering a stronger response to hate crimes and discrimination through the implementation of a community-based monitoring across Europe. With a 24-month duration, the project focuses on establishing a comprehensive, community-based monitoring system that empowers civil society counselling organizations and community-based organizations (CBOs) to better identify, document, and report incidents of anti-Muslim hatred. The consortium consists of the organizations CLAIM (DE) as coordinator, Dokustelle Austria and University of Limerick (IE) as beneficiaries. All partners are highly experienced and well-established in their respective countries when it comes to promoting activities to combat racism, supporting victims of hate incidents, and collaborating with national and local authorities to shape practices and policies on this issue. The immediate output of the project is the improvement of knowledge and skills regarding reporting, recording and documenting anti-Muslim incidents, a strengthened network of civil society counseling centers and community-based organizations across Europe and the dissemination of a low-threshold and multilingual reporting tool. In the long term, RADAR will foster stronger collaboration between civil society and state authorities, leading to a more coordinated and effective response to anti-Muslim hate crimes. The project's outputs, such as the standardized documentation guide and technical infrastructure, will continue to serve as valuable resources beyond the project's lifetime, supporting sustained efforts to address anti-Muslim hatred across Europe. RADAR’s sustainability and transferability strategy ensures that its results will have a lasting impact, as other EU-funded projects and initiatives will be able to build on the foundation established by RADAR.
