Description

Description

The objective of the Reproductive and Child Health Project in Sierra Leone for Phase 1 is to assist the recipient in addressing immediate constraints to reducing longer-tern maternal and under-five mortality. There are two components to the project. The first component of the project is Phase 1 Local Councils (LC) health plans. This component is dedicated to assisting the recipient in addressing immediate constraints in reducing longer-tern maternal and under-five mortality. The activities to be carried out are included in the LCs' Phase 1 plans and are organized by service delivery mode; family community based care, population oriented services, and clinical care. A fourth sub-component is intended to strengthen capacity for management, monitoring, and evaluation at the decentralized levels. The second component of the project is project management, monitoring, and evaluation. This component supports the building of capacity of the Institutional Reform and Capacity Building Project (IRCBP) coordinating unit, the Local Government Finance Department (LGFD), and the ministry of health and sanitation (MOHS) for the coordination, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the project.
