Description
Description | The Reproductive Health IX project, Mother-Child Health IV voucher project continues the German FC commitment to improving reproductive health and mother-child health in a fourth phase. The aim of the voucher project is to increase the use of high-quality, comprehensive, inclusive and prejudice-free health services relating to safe birth and family planning in the governorates benefiting from the project (module objective). This contributes to strengthening the sexual and reproductive health and the corresponding rights of women and girls in Yemen (program objective). A contribution is also to be made to the prevention of COVID-19. This is achieved by distributing voucher booklets for safe motherhood, which finance, among other things, transport to health facilities, professionally assisted births or the treatment of complications. At the same time, vouchers for longer-term family planning are distributed and support measures are carried out for qualified health facilities. These receive payments through a performance-based financing mechanism in order to increase the quality of their services. In addition, measures to protect the population and health personnel from COVID-19 are being introduced (e.g. distribution of protective equipment). The implementing partner is the Yemeni Yamaan Foundation in the governorates of Ibb, Aden, Lahj and Al Hudaydah. With a term of 36 months, the total costs are estimated at around EUR 11.02 million. The FC contribution also amounts to up to EUR 11 million. Any additional costs are to be covered by the sales revenue for the vouchers. |
