Description
Description | The project is a continuation of the FC modules Strengthening Public Private Partnerships to Promote Reproductive Health I and II (BMZ No. 2011 65 679 and 2014 68 602) and the Reproductive Health Program Phase I (2016 68 821) and Phase II (2019 67 413). The aim of the project is to improve access to high-quality information, products and services in the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in the project districts and to increase informed demand for SRHR products and services. A particular focus is on better culturally and socially adapted access to and sustainable behavioral change with regard to SRHR among young people and rural population groups. The additional FC funds available totaling EUR 16.0 million (from stock audit) will be used to continue the activities financed under Phases I and II of the project. The project is to run for 3 years. The Malawian Ministry of Health will appoint a consortium of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) led by Population Services International (PSI) to implement the project, provided that an acceptable offer is submitted in terms of content and finances. The project is intended to reach a total of more than 1 million people. The target groups include young people (10-24 years) in rural areas of Malawi and men and women of reproductive age (15-49 years). The project is part of the development cooperation program to support the health sector in Malawi, is in line with the national health strategy and contributes to the Malawian goals of the London Summit on Family Planning in 2012 and to the BMZ initiative Self-determined family planning and maternal health. |
