Description
Description | The Reproductive Health VI, Social Marketing III project continues the German FC commitment to improving the reproductive health of the Yemeni population in a third phase (previous phases were BMZ No. 2007.6523.0 and 2011.6546.3). The aim of the project is to improve the target group's knowledge of reproductive health and modern family planning and attitudes and behavior with regard to avoiding unwanted pregnancies. At the same time, the demand for and use of modern contraceptive methods should be increased and stable access to modern contraceptive methods should be ensured even in the current crisis situation. The target group is the sexually active population, with particular attention to young people and women. In addition to the procurement and distribution of subsidized contraceptives via the private sector, the program's measures also include awareness campaigns via channels such as social media, call centers, interpersonal communication by community-based volunteers and lobby activities. The measures are implemented by the Yemeni Yamaan Foundation based in Sanaa. The total costs for a planned duration of 3.5 years are estimated at EUR 6.2 million. The FZ contribution amounts to EUR 5 million. Additional costs of EUR 1.2 million are to be covered by sales revenue. |
