Description

Description

The project involves the design-build-finance-operate-maintain concession of 2 transmission lines located in Chiclayo and Cajamarca provinces, Peru. Sponsor is the Spanish company Acciona, which formed an SPV called Concesionaria Transmisora Reque Tumbes SAC for both concessions. The first project is called "220kV Reque–Nueva Carhuaquero link, substations, transmission lines and associated extensions", which will increase the transmission capacity between the towns of Chiclayo and Cajamarca by 300MVA in addition to the existing 150MVA, through a new link that will benefit 1.1 million people. The second project is called “220/60kV–75MVA Nueva Tumbes substation and the 60kV Nueva Tumbes–Tumbes transmission line” and it will benefit 246,000 people and will fundamentally prevent the overload of the old Zorritos substation currently in operation, covering the projected growth in electricity demand in the area for the next 15 years. Each concession will last 30 years after the start of commercial operations, scheduled for February 2026 and April 2025, respectively. The total investment amount for both projects is $54 million. Peru's Private Investment Promotion Agency (Proinversión) awarded and signed the concessions with Acciona in November 2022. https://www.acciona.com/updates/news/acciona-awarded-first-electric-transmission-grid-concession-peru/?_adin=02021864894 https://www.ijglobal.com/articles/168353/ppp-contracts-signed-for-peruvian-transmission-projects
