Project “TrescEU 2022 Croatia” is a continuation of the contribution of the Republic of Croatia to the rescEU transition capacities for aerial forest firefighting within the EU Civil Protection Mechanism. The project describes the capacities that the Republic of Croatia will declare available on stand-by principle for the 2022 aerial forest firefighting season, as part of the overall EU efforts to provide timely and efficient response to the challenges of the forthcoming forest-fire season. Namely, technical, logistic and other relevant information is provided for the up to two declared water bombers CL-415 and four crews, showing clearly the ability to perform three types of aerial firefighting interventions: pre-positioning, rapid intervention response and deployment, as set by the UCPM-2022-rescEU-TR call objectives. This ability is further elaborated through the description of the Croatian legal framework that outlines the roles of the relevant stakeholders in carrying out firefighting tasks, along with national decision-making process and procedures relevant for international deployment.
