Description
Description | India plays a key role in achieving international climate protection goals. The country has a high, as yet insufficiently exploited potential, particularly in solar energy. Despite an efficient network of technology institutions, Indian application-oriented climate technology research has so far focused on the areas of solar thermal hot water supply and conventional photovoltaics. The aim of the project is to contribute to deepening German-Indian research cooperation and to disseminating knowledge in the field of solar thermal power generation (CSP; component A) and concentrating photovoltaics (CPV; component B). To this end, test and measurement equipment, calculation tools, a 64 kW CPV system and a thermal energy storage system for research purposes will be installed in cooperation with the research and development department of the largest Indian power generator NTPC Ltd. In cooperation with two German research institutions, the employees of the partner NETRA will be trained accordingly and joint research results will be published. By strengthening application-oriented research, technology transfer and the implementation of research results in concrete projects, the aim is to contribute to a climate-friendly development path for the Indian energy sector and thus to global climate protection. In addition, highly qualified jobs can be created in the field of climate technology research in India. |
