Description

Description

The project involves putting in a reserved lane 1.4 km long in each direction as part of widening of boulevard Grande-Allée between boulevard Du Quartier and the Canadian National Railway, installing priority measures for buses at the traffic lights and installing bus shelters. The work will be under the responsibility of the City of Brossard, and the main deliverable will be the opening of the reserved lane and bus shelters scheduled for late fall 2019, following completion of the widening scheduled for 2019 on the City of Longueuil side. • The plans and specifications prepared by the City of Brossard for tender are completed. • The call for tenders should be launched in the first quarter of 2018 by the City of Brossard. • The work should be completed by the City of Brossard in late fall of 2018. The Ultimate Recipient realized cost savings in this project. It will therefore conduct additional work by adding a bi-directional bicycle lane to the reserved lane development work described in the initial description of the project. In addition, the final beneficiary would like to conduct work to extend the reserved lane section by a further 1.4 km, also on the Longueuil side. With this additional deliverable, the reserved lane would total a distance of 2.8 km. Finally, he would like to build sidewalks, install lighting, and traffic lights on this new section of reserved lane.
