Information Water Resources Department, Govt. of A.P has come up with Reservoir Across Kundu River Construction Project i.e., Rajoli Reservoir 2.95 TMC with a ticket size of 1361.5 INR Crores. This project in Irrigation sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Notice to Proceed and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project Formation of Rajoli Reservoir across Kundu River on upstream side of existing Rajoli Anicut for a total storage capacity of 2.95 TMC of water. In order to utilize the flood waters of Kundu river during flood season, it is proposed to impound the flood waters of about 3.80 TMC at Rajoli anicut so as to supplement the KC Canal ayacut. The existing Rajoli anicut across Kundu River is having storage capacity of only 0.20 TMC, which is not sufficient for the needs of ayacut of K.C. Canal below Rajoli anicut in Kadapa District. In view of the above, it is proposed to construct a Rajoli Reservoir in place of the existing Rajoli anicut with a storage capacity of 2.95 TMC This work is proposed for construction of Rajoli Reservoir across River Kundu at Rajoli Village, Chagalamarri M , Kurnool District to impound 2.95 TMC of flood water to stabilize 91,000 Acres of K.C.Canal ayacut in YSR Kadapa District in addition to meeting the drinking water demand of Proddutur Town and the needs for upcoming Industries. Administrative approvals accorded for Rs 1357.10 Cr. vide G.O.RT. No.561, dated.17-12-2019. Benefits: Stabilize the ayacut of KC Canal of 91,000 Acres in YSR Kadapa District Drinking of water needs of Proddatur Town and to supply of water to upcoming Industries Steel Plant in YSR Kadapa District. To protect the surrounding villages from the inundation during the floods to Kundu River.
