Resolution Copper Land Exchange and Development Project

The U.S. Forest Service and Resolution Copper completed a Federal land exchange to unlock the full potential of the Resolution Copper project, one of the world's most significant untapped copper deposits. The land exchange involved transferring over 5,400 acres of environmentally and culturally sensitive land to federal agencies and receiving over 2,400 acres adjacent to the historic Magma Copper mine. The project aims to create thousands of jobs and contribute significantly to Arizona's economy, with preliminary spending of approximately $500 million over the next two years for enabling works and initial underground development.
