Description
Description | As part of the reforms of the Turkish energy sector towards a liberalized electricity market, private investors are playing a key role in unlocking the potential in the field of energy and resource efficiency. This potential remains largely untapped, even though many projects are economically viable. The investors in question are usually medium-sized or smaller Turkish companies that have only limited access to international capital markets. Their main problem is the lack of medium to long-term financing options for efficiency projects. The capital-intensive investments in energy or resource efficiency require financing with adapted terms in terms of terms and grace years as well as technical advice, which is provided by the TSKB. The project aims to provide a financing line for investments by private companies in the field of energy and resource efficiency via the Turkish Türkyie Sinai Kalkima Bankasi AS (TSKB). This is intended to expand the range of medium and long-term financing for private investments in energy efficiency, process efficiency and industrial recycling. The project contributes to reducing the energy and resource intensity of Turkish industry and thus to reducing negative environmental and climate effects (overarching development policy objective). The target group is medium-sized Turkish companies in the industrial sector. |
