Restoration of storm drain outfall

The replacement of the existing deteriorated 1 meter diameter, 23 meter long corrugated culvert with a new box style concrete culvert. The existing culvert is failing with signs of holes and continually is clogged from beaver activity prohibiting the passage for fish during spawning. The proposed larger concrete box culvert will increase the lifespan of the culvert, minimize clogging from beavers and increase fish passage for spawning. This culvert location is the final outfall into Lake Couchiching from our 33.7 hectare stormwater catchment area. This project will prevent local flooding and improve overall management of the catchment area, thus benefiting neighbouring communities.
