Description

Description

The Results-based Financing project in Water Sector II concerns the proper operation and maintenance of the water supply and wastewater disposal infrastructure in Jordan. The aim of the project is to contribute to improving the cost-efficient operation and maintenance of Jordan's water and sanitation infrastructure and thus increase the resilience of water suppliers to external shocks. This is to be achieved through - result-oriented financing of small and medium-sized infrastructure and maintenance projects at the level of all water supply companies (component 1) and - financing performance-based contracts for the operation of selected wastewater treatment plants of the Yarmouk Water Company (component 2). The project is being implemented jointly with Jordan's three regional water supply companies and the Water Authority of Jordan (WAJ) as the project sponsor. The target group are the parts of the population that will benefit from the improved operation of the infrastructure and maintenance projects that are identified during the project.
