Acquisition of state-of-the-art forensic technology to effectively combat the criminal activities affecting the EU financial interests. Currently, policemen perform specific supervisory actions and collection of evidence without specific equipment and facilities to allow further supporting evidence in court (photo and video capture). It is also necessary during the investigation to take photos at the crime scene, for reconstructions, searches, presentation for recognition of other criminal activities, and during certain operations. Crime scene investigation is jeopardized by this old tech and is very frustrating for our forensic team not being able to fully exploit the evidence found at the crime scene (for ex. capturing latent fingerprints found on the surfaces of the cigarettes packages, identifying differences in ink and paper formulation by absorption, reflectance, fluorescence on difference written documents such as money, driver license, ID card etc)
