Description
Description | Revealing the Alliance (in 7 steps) - Step 1 2 3 (2022-2024): The Relevance of festivals in an interconnected world aims to initiate, consolidate and disseminate a trans-sectorial and interactive European Festivals Alliance by, for and through festivals. Building on its work in the past 7 years and on EFA’s 70th anniversary in 2022, “Revealing the Alliance” offers a platform: 1/ for festivals’ development, 2/ for festivals’ interaction with cities and businesses to implement the “Alliance Sustainability Agenda 70 Years On”. 88 EFA members are the core of the project and benefit directly from the activities: networking, training, co-production. Through its projects (e.g. www.FestivalFinder.eu), EFA reaches out to more than 2500 festivals and engages them in campaigning, data collection and advocacy. Festivals and their stakeholders organised in sub-communities will reflect and act jointly, so equipping festivals with new models for intersectorial work. The project proposes a series of targeted activities within each sub-community (festivals, cities and business), serving their needs while embedding outputs in the story of the Alliance itself in 3 thematic priorities: Green deal (Year1); Innovation, co-creation and the use of public spaces (Year2); Access to culture, inclusion, gender balance, audience development (Year3). It does this through networking, capacity building, collecting and disseminating knowledge and practice, advocacy and communication. The ultimate results are to grow sub-communities, alongside their identification with and ownership of the Alliance, while strengthening the core (festivals) skills, capacity, diversity and interaction. Central outputs are the annual progress statements of the “Agenda 70 Years On” based on surveys and activities within each community. This will show the Alliance’s authority, visibility and interconnectivity with stakeholders and upscale the sub-communities’ individual agenda through the connection with festivals. |
