Description | The Revolution Wind project is a large offshore wind electricity generating project located off the north-east coast of the US, about 15 miles south of Rhode Island and 32 miles south-east of Connecticut. It is a joint venture between Danish energy company Ørsted and German wind developer Skyborn Renewables. The project has obtained all necessary federal and state permits and is 80% complete. It is expected to deliver enough electricity to power 350,000 homes and supply 2.5% of the New England region's electricity starting in 2026, while reducing Rhode Island's emissions by 11 million metric tons. |
