Description | Revolution Wind is a 65-turbine offshore wind farm project near the coasts of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, designed to deliver 704 megawatts of power to Rhode Island and Connecticut, enough to power approximately 350,000 homes. The project received final federal permits in 2023 and was about 80% complete with 45 turbines installed and most offshore substations complete when a stop-work order was issued by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management in August 2025 due to national security concerns. The developer, Ørsted, is suing to overturn the stop-work order. |
