Description | The Revolution Wind project is an offshore wind electricity generating project located about 15 miles south of the Rhode Island coast and 32 miles south-east of the Connecticut coast. It is a joint venture between Danish energy company Ørsted and German wind developer Skyborn Renewables. The project has obtained all necessary federal and state permits and is 80% complete. It is expected to deliver enough electricity to power 350,000 homes and supply 2.5% of the New England region's electricity starting in 2026, while reducing Rhode Island's pollution by 11 million metric tons. |
