The ReWild Advocates project is a transformative initiative that merges outdoor recreation with environmental responsibility, fostering a new generation of eco-conscious outdoor enthusiasts. As nature faces increasing pressures from human activity (trail erosion, plastic pollution, and habitat disruption) this project seeks to redefine the relationship between adventure and sustainability. ReWild will equip hikers, climbers, and outdoor sports communities with the knowledge, tools, and motivation to protect the very landscapes they explore. Through education, digital innovation, and community engagement, the project promotes responsible outdoor behaviors and sustainability-driven sports practices. Its key objectives include: - Raising awareness about sustainable outdoor recreation and biodiversity protection. - Developing and distributing interactive educational materials (manuals, QR-coded eco-stickers, and digital resources). - Training eco-ambassadors - young leaders who will champion green outdoor ethics in their local communities. - Conducting capacity-building workshops to integrate sustainability principles into outdoor sports events and tourism. The project employs a multi-faceted approach, combining in-person training, digital resources, and grassroots activism. A QR-code eco-sticker campaign will provide real-time access to sustainability guidelines at hiking trails, climbing routes, and outdoor events, ensuring that knowledge is available where and when it's needed. By the project's conclusion, we aim to establish a lasting impact - empowering sports organizations, youth workers, and policymakers with practical solutions to minimize environmental footprints.
