Rhizome Against Polarization aims to prevent violent extremism and social polarization at the community level From a human rights perspective in Italy, Austria and Spain. Through an empowerment and resilience strategy, we seek to: (i) Train and provide tools for front-line professionals: teachers, prison staff and organized civil society (ii) Reinforce resilience to adolescent hate speech through of art and culture (iii) Promotion of training through the RIZOMA methodology that promotes depolarization among young leaders in their communities (iv) Establish a diagnosis of the state and causes of violent extremism in each country as well as a action plan from a civil society perspective to promote violent extremism. (v) Advocate at the national and European level to promote a public policy on issues of prevention of violent extremisms from a rights perspective with a key role for civil society. (vi) Promote and disseminate the results of the project to sensitize the general population Thanks to this multi-stakeholder intervention, resilience and social cohesion will be strengthened, thus promoting a favorable scenario for the prevention of violent extremism. Prevention of polarisation and radicalisation in 3 European countries (Austria, Italy and Spain) at grass-root level through a participative approach (Living Lab methodology). Outcomes • Equip first-line practitioners to manage polarisation and radicalisation • Reinforce resilience of communities at risk • Equip public institutions with Policy Frameworks to manage polarisation and radicalisation • Increase awareness among EU society on existing good practices to mitigate polarisation Outputs and activities • 3 European Living Lab Rhizome: 2-day Multi-Stakeholder Workshop for 15 first-line practitioners from the 3 countries • 3 National Rhizome Workshops: 1-day Multi-Stakeholder Workshop 15 first-line practitioners per country • Development on European and national for education at formal and non-formal level • Training of trainers: 3 courses for 20 multipliers per course • 12 Pilot training courses for 20 multipliers per course • 1 European Nonviolent Campaign Training: 2-day workshop for 15 multipliers of the project • 3 National nonviolent campaign trainings for 15 multipliers each • 3 Pilot artistic activities (art and sport, 3 per country) with an average of 15 participants per pilot activity • 3 Focus groups: 1 group per country with 7/12 participants each • 3 Public events: 1 public event per country with 50 participants each. • 3 Initial diagnosis report, one per country • 3 Participatory DAFO diagnosis: 2-day: National Rhizome Multi-Stakeholder Workshop, with 15 first-line practitioners per country. • 3 Plan of Action: 1 Policy framework per country • 3 National Roundtables, 1 per country • 1 European Round table in The European Parliament Beneficiaries Short term: - Members of grassroots organizations (NGOs/CSOs) - Communities at risk - Youth (education centres, prisons) Mid-term: - Policy makers (local authorities) - Law enforcement actors - Media - Prisons public officers Long-term: - Institutions/public opinion - Media
