Description

Description

IGLYO’s mission is to strengthen the rights of LGBTQI children and young people, fight for equality and inclusion, and empower our youth voices. We strive to ensure the voices and experiences of LGBTQI young people are present and heard by decision-makers at European and international levels by designing and conducting research, advocacy, and communication on our concerns. In 2026, IGLYO’s activities are designed to realise 5 Objectives: Objective 1 IGLYO is a youth-led membership organisation practising fair and transparent governance Objective 2: IGLYO advances the rights of LGBTQI children and young people Objective 3: IGLYO promotes inclusive education Objective 4: IGLYO fights discrimination against LGBTQI children and young people Objective 5: IGLYO strengthens Member Organisations and civil society organisations IGLYO is the only network organisation in the European Union focused on advocating for LGBTQI children and young people. Since IGLYO was started over 40 years ago, the LGBTQI community has achieved significant progress in terms of rights and social acceptance. However, we are now witnessing a reversal of some of these gains, with an increase in anti-LGBTQI rhetoric and the implementation of policies and laws that limit the freedoms of LGBTQI people, especially LGBTQI children and young people, preventing them from living fully authentic lives. The initiatives planned for 2026 aim to strengthen the LGBTQI youth rights movement in Europe and promote cross-border collaboration between organisations dedicated to LGBTQI youth rights and creating synergies between the LGBTQI rights movement and the children's rights movement. We are committed to upholding EU values of equality and non-discrimination.
