Description
Description | Objectives The objective of this project is strengthening the role of children in monitoring and reporting on the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Activities To achieve our goal, we will 1) increase children's knowledge about the Concluding Observations Finland received from the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child; and 2) together with children, pilot models for children’s participation in evaluating the realisation of their rights. Together with children, we will produce child-friendly material about the reporting process and the Concluding Observations. With various groups of children, we will pilot methods for children’s participation in evaluating the realisation of their rights. We will promote sharing and learning among CSOs in the EU and share our lessons learned nationally with all of those who have a role in the reporting process to the UN CRC (state, NHRIs, CSOs). This project will benefit children, in all their diversity, as equality and non-discrimination principles are considered throughout the project and in all materials produced. The outputs and lessons learned are relevant and useful for adults working with or for children. Expected results We expect to find a variety of ways of including different groups of children in the reporting process. This way, children will become more aware of their rights and of adults’ role as duty bearers. Respectively, we expect to increase adults’ understanding of children as rights holders. Type and number of outputs to be produced 1 whiteboard video 1 child-friendly version of the Concluding Observations app. 10 workshops for children 2 Sharing and Learning events 2 dissemination seminars Keywords Child Rights, participation, UNCRC, reporting, CSOs. |
