Description

This concession was granted to Concessionaria Rio-Teresopolis SA (CRT) and is part of the federal roads concession program in Brazil. The ownership of CRT is divided as follows: OAS has 28% and the remaining partners, Carioca Christiani-Nielsen, EIT and Queiroz Galvao, have 24% each. The total cost of the project is US$ 476.6 million (R$ 450 million, in November 1995 value). A loan of US$ 31.8 million has been acquired from the BNDES, the Brazilian federal government development bank (R$ 30 million, in Nov. 1995 value). The remaining project cost still need to reach financial closure. The estimated average daily traffic flow in the road is 9,000 vehicles. The investments undertaken by CRT, year by year, were: 1996 – US$ 32.3 million (R$ 33.6 million) 1997 – US$ 16.1 million (R$ 18 million) 1998 – US$ 14.1 million (R$ 18 million) 1999 – US$ 16.6 million (R$ 30 million) 2000 – US$ 14.8 million (R$ 28.9 million) 2001 – US$ 8.7 million (R$ 19.4 million) 2002 – US$ 3.2 million (R$ 9.5 million)
