"This project entails the construction of the Rio Cobre Water Treatment Plant in Kingston, Jamaica. The initiative aims to improve access to reliable potable water for communities in the Kingston Metropolitan Area and parts of St. Catherine. It will address increasing water demand, enhance reliability, and bolster the country's resilience to climate change, ultimately benefiting over 600,000 Jamaicans with a daily supply of 15 million imperial gallons of water (68191 cubic metres). The project is sponsored by Rio Cobre Water Limited, a special purpose vehicle formed by Vinci Construction Grands Projets and Capital Infrastructure Group. With a total cost of $77 million, $30 million was financed through a loan from IDB Invest, while the remaining $47 million was secured with loans from Proparco, Sagicor Bank Jamaica Limited, and the Development Bank of Jamaica.
