Description

Description	NextDecade Corporation has advanced the Rio Grande LNG project by making positive Final Investment Decisions (FIDs) for Trains 4 and 5. Each train has an estimated project cost of $6.7 billion and an expected LNG production capacity of 6 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). The financing for these trains includes joint venture agreements with partners such as Global Infrastructure Partners, GIC, Mubadala Investment Company, and TotalEnergies. Construction on the first three trains began in July 2023 and is ahead of schedule. Completion for Train 4 is expected in the second half of 2030 and for Train 5 in the first half of 2031. The company is also advancing development of Trains 6 through 8, with plans to pre-file an application for Train 6 in 2025.
