Description | NextDecade's Rio Grande LNG is a massive liquefied natural gas export complex located near the U.S.-Mexico border in Texas. The project spans 1,000 acres along the Brownsville Ship Channel and is planned to have ten liquefaction units (trains) in total. The first phase of three trains is expected to be complete by early 2029, capable of powering more than 20 million households. The project is slated to begin production early next year and continue expanding through 2036, adding roughly one new train per year. Half of the trains are currently under construction, producing enough energy for 65 million households. |
