Riruta-Ngong Commuter Railway Project

suspended

The Riruta-Ngong Railway project is a commuter railway initiative commissioned to improve transport between Riruta and Ngong and ease congestion along Ngong Road. The project was declared unconstitutional by the High Court due to failure to meet legal requirements such as parliamentary approval, competitive procurement, feasibility study, and public participation before construction began. The government has 90 days to review procurement and contracts to comply with the law and decide whether to proceed with fresh tendering or validate existing contracts.
