RISE AND SHINE SCHOOL PROJECT

Shekina Learning Center (SLC), is a private primary school incorporated as a Private Limited company which was established in 1998. SLC envisions to be one of the leading providers of high quality educational standards in Zambia and the SADC region which will result into wealth creation and economic development in the nation. Located in Chilanga, SLC has 11 teachers and 120 learners. SLC intends to upgrade the primary school in Chilanga and build a new boarding secondary school in Katuba area (15 miles area) at a cost of USD$2,916,000 and a working capital of $299,000 which brings the total cost to $3,215,000 for both projects. SLC intends to accommodate 210 pupils from nursery to Grade 7 after upgrading the primary school. This process will involve building new classroom blocks, Dining Hall, Library, Swimming Pool and a Play area. Secondly, SLC intends to build a completely new ultra-modern boarding secondary school on a 15-hectare piece of land in katuba which will accommodate 550 pupils. The school will have facilities to cater for learners from Grade 8 to A-Levels which are; classroom blocks, offices, A- Level theatre rooms, laboratory blocks, a science showroom, boarding houses for both girls and boys, Sports Complex and outdoor sports facilities. SLC has 2 significant assets at the primary school which are; a School Bus worth USD14, 300 and Land and buildings worth USD179, 000. The school has no loans from any financial institution but has a short-term liability of balance on the school bus worth USD7, 500 which is payable within a year in 3 instalments of USD2, 500 each. This project is open for an FDI through a joint venture. The schools will generate income from school fees and number of uniforms sold. SLC is expected to record total sales ranging from US$2,070,188 in 2024 to US$7,389,221 by 2028 recording a 2.57% growth rate over the time period. The project is envisioned to commence by 2024 provided the funds will be available before end of 2022.
